This is the question posed by the world's leading health and nutrition experts in Food Matters. There is much truth in the saying ‘you are what you eat’. It is no surprise then that one of the most common factors linking people with heart disease is poor dietary and lifestyle habits. Does Your Doctor Recommend Natural Alternatives?
The truth is your doctor most likely has received little if any training in nutrition and alternative therapies as part of his or her qualification. In the US less than 6% of graduated physicians have studied Nutrition as part of their curriculum.
But even so, from a business perspective, it may not be in their best interest to tell you. Prescribing drugs and performing surgery is the livelihood of their profession. Doctors depend on patients unquestioningly acceptance of traditional medical treatments which keep patients returning as a customer over and over again.
